New no-parking zones in St Ann's Bay
published: Monday | November 6, 2006

The St. Ann Parish Council is advising that it will be implementing several no-parking zones in St. Ann's Bay as of today.

According to Mayor Delroy Giscombe, the move is expected to reduce the congestion on the parishes main thoroughfares.

"Congestion on main thoroughfares in the town has been getting out of control and efforts must be made to regularise the flow of traffic," Mr. Giscombe said.

He is imploring motorists to cooperate with the new measures and he is also warning that those who disobey the rules will have their vehicles towed.

The mayor also noted that the council would be working closely with the police to ensure that the no-parking rules are sustained. Motorists are encouraged to use the paid parking facility on Market Street.
