When the men stood out!
published: Sunday | November 5, 2006

Janet Silvera, Senior Gleaner Writer

WESTERN BUREAU:

On one hand he looked like a 'lady of the night'. On the other, he depicted a deeply troubled poor little rich girl called Paris Hilton.

Whoever Montego Bay businessman Frederick Moe was dressed as, he wore the most daring and exciting Halloween costume in the Second City on Saturday, October 28.

In fact, the men at the Groovy Grouper annual ghoulish event competed heavily with the women, tapping into their creative juices this year, allowing them to flow freely.

Like a renaissance man Dolphin Cove's Neil Burrowes donned wig, sunglasses and a scarlet Elvis Presley costume, revealing all chest and navel, while Chukka Caribbean Adventure's young Matthew Hall forced himself into a bottle and came costumed as a bottle of vodka.

Hall's costume read: "Vodka is clear. Clearly the choice for clear drink drinkers. The more you drink the better you feel, so drink vodka for every meal. Vodka makes you smart, good looking and cool, so you won't even care if you act like a fool! Drink up Genius!" By 2:30 a.m he was totally 'vodka'd'.

Miramar police officer, Dave Ghany, whose appetite and cuffs called for two female prisoners, was among the tempting male species that scored 'full hundred' at this year's event.

Women almost outdone

The women were almost outdone, had it not been for the sexiest witch to ever grace the earth, Katrina Moe dressed as 'Sabrina', Andrea Burrowes representing the dirtiest of Martinis, Dominique Peterkin as Austin Powers' 'Foxy Cleopatra', Michelle 'French Maid' Tulloch, Patrice 'Little Bo Peep' Headley and the beautiful rainbow girl, Christine Marzouca.

The statement-making couples included Best Costume winners Roman warriors Ann Chang and Ray Therrien, pirates Brandon Laing and Gigi Ferrer and the 'Mummy Returns' Andrea and Scott Stanley.

Costumed as Rainbow Girl, Christine Marzouca, carrying her sweets, looked stunning beside sister, Formula One race car driver Karla Marzouca. Both hits at the party.
