Consuls General converge at the Ritz

The World Federation of Consuls World Congress 2006 will be held in Montego Bay Jamaica at the Ritz-Carlton hotel from Saturday, November 4 to Thursday, November 9.

Air Jamaica was named the official carrier for the World Congress. The Hon. Arnold Foote, dean of the Consular Corps of Jamaica, and a director of the World Congress, signed the agreement with Will Rogers of Air Jamaica.

The congress is held every three years and consular work and activities worldwide discussed in detail. The election of new officers is also held at that time. Over 300 persons have registered to attend the congress which has representatives from over 80 countries worldwide. The Consular Corps of Jamaica was chosen as host for this year at the last congress in Athens, Greece, in 2003. This is the eighth congress.
