Not a dead issue at all!
published: Sunday | October 29, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

When I read and heard the Hon. Minister Buchanan say Trafigura was dead, I wondered if Minister Buchanan was still living in the 1970s?

I wonder if he understands that people are reading and learning every day. I have bad news for you, Danny. You accepted a ministerial post after Hon. Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller left you out in the first instance.

Since Trafigura is dead, why don't you challenge Chris Tufton in South West St. Elizabeth where you are the present MP?

Let me tell you this, Mr. Minister. This one, Trafigura, is not going to go away like the zinc scandal, the Iran sugar deal scandal, the furniture scandal, the National Solid Waste Management Agency scandal, the National Housing Development scandal and the Sandals Whitehosue scandal, just to name a few.

You and the Government really take us for fools; you cannot fool us all the time. You are living in the past, that is why you and the Government have gone back into the 70s with the crash programme.

No plan to educate the people so that the life of the people can be better, so that the people can fish for themselves. We are not going to stop until we get the truth and nothing but the truth in this Trafigura affair.

I am, etc.,
