Dravid looks to spin web
published: Sunday | October 15, 2006

JAIPUR, India (AP):

INDIA CAPTAIN Rahul Dravid says his spin bowling attack will pose a major challenge for England in today's opening match of the limited-overs ICC Champions Trophy.

"The biggest challenge (England) will probably have to deal with is how they play our spinners, how they play in these conditions, how they adapt and adjust themselves to the wickets," Dravid said yesterday.

ankle injury

An ankle injury kept England skipper Andrew Flintoff out of action for three months, but now he wants to lead from the front and will bat at No. 3.

"It's something I feel I can do after not getting an opportunity earlier in my career, and I feel I am equipped to bat up the order," said Flintoff, who will be playing his 100th international today.

However, the England captain is not taking too many chances with his newly-fit ankle and will avoid bowling for the time being.

"I am not going to rush back from the ankle injury," he said.

Harbhajan Singh leads the Indian spin attack against a formidable batting line-up including Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood.

"We got to learn to score off the spinners in the middle overs," Flintoff said.
