Man kills ex-lover, body later found
published: Saturday | October 14, 2006

Angelo Laurence, Gleaner Writer

MANDEVILLE, Manchester:

A woman believed to be about 28 years old, lost her life during a domestic dispute with a man with whom she had a relationship.

Caillion Beale was killed under what one policeman described as the "most brutal condition". Her throat was slashed during a dispute with taxi operator, Michael White, of Hillside district, Manchester, about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11.

Taxi followed

According to the Mandeville police, they quelled a dispute between Ms. Beale, who worked as a secretary at a church in Newport, south Manchester, and White, before putting her in a taxi sending her on her way. The taxi was then trailed by the accused, who used his car to ram the vehicle in which she was travelling from the rear. Ms. Beale, upon recognising the driver as White, pleaded with the driver not to stop.

However, the taxi was forced into an embankment at which time Beale was dragged out and stabbed several times before her throat was slashed. It is alleged by eyewitnesses that White then returned to his car and drove away. Neighbours told The Gleaner that the couple had a stormy relationship and as a result, Beale left the home they shared and only returned with the police to remove some of her belongings.

White's body was reportedly fished from a tank the next day, and the police theorise that he committed suicide.
