Teach us to fish
published: Thursday | September 28, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

Teaching us to fish instead of giving us 12,000 fishes is what the Government should be doing. Beautification for Cricket World Cup 2007 and eat for six months then starve!

I do believe the Government should train and certify these participants in the techniques of landscaping which would give them the required skill and competence needed to survive in this globalised world.

This is the direction in which the country should be going. Even when it comes to the resurfacing of our roads, we even think that properly training and certifying them would benefit them and the country more.

Nation-building is not giving a fish but teaching us how to fish.

I am, etc.,
