SHERONE SIMPSON'S dominance of women's sprinting continued at last weekend's IAAF Golden League meet, the Van Damme Memorial in Belgium.
The 22-year-old University of Technology (UTech) student entertained the capacity crowd of 47,000 which was on hand to celebrate the meet's 30th anniversary in the Belgian capital.
Simpson, who helped Jamaica to gold in the women's sprint relay at the 2004 Athens Olympics, recorded her fourth sub-11 seconds clocking over the distance.
She had the event locked up by the 40 metre point, after which she eased across the line in 10.95, leaving American Me'Lisa Barber a distant second (11.10), with Stephanie Durst (11.18) third.
Also, on Wednesday, she won the women's 100m in a low-key meet in Poland.
Hampered by the difficult weather conditions, Simpson managed 11.25 seconds to topple rivals.
It was with these performances, The Gleaner decided to name Simpson its Top Performer of the Week.
The Stephen Francis-coached athlete, who was the starter when Jamaica won the women's sprint relay at the 2002 World Juniors, has the two fastest times - 10.83 and 10.87 - this season.
She has also recorded times of 10.98 and 11.00 flat this season.
In the 200m, the former Manchester High student has times of 22.00 (twice) and 22.14.
