Potential pilot soaring high
published: Saturday | September 2, 2006

Stewart

Nicolé Stewart of St. Andrew High School is pursuing her dreams of becoming a pilot after copping nine distinctions in the 2006 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate examinations.

"I felt happy, relieved and thankful to God because he helped me to do so well," Nicolé told The Gleaner.

The 16-year-old said prayer, encouragement from teachers and hard work were the recipe for her success.

Daughter of Andrea and Donald Stewart, Nicolé will begin sixth form at St. Andrew this month, where she will pursue mathematics, physics and chemistry at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency level.

Lower school activities

While at lower school, Nicolé was a member of the hockey and badminton teams and was also a member of the Inter-School Christian Fellowship.

Nicolé admitted that while she did not have a specific formula for studying she tried to balance her extra-curricular activities and school work.

A member of the Portmore Lane Covenant Community Church, Nicolé is guided by the philosophy, "With God I can do all things'. She loves shopping and also enjoys watching television.

She got ones in mathematics, English language, English literature, Spanish, geography, principles of accounts, biology, chemistry and physics.
