Friends and relatives of these two karters cheer them on at a go-kart race meet.
The Red Bull 'Smokin' Street' Go-Kart extravaganza has been rescheduled with the same excitement and fanfare for tomorrow.
Postponed last Sunday, due to the threat of Tropical Storm Ernesto, Mitch Watson, brand manager of Red Bull for the northern Caribbean region, said the event, which is being held in collaboration with the Jamaica Karting Association, will happen.
"The only thing that has changed is the date," said Mr. Watson.
Knutsford Boulevard in New Kingston, St. Andrew, will be taken over by skillful and entertaining go-kart racers.
"We are keeping it jiggy with lots of excitement for the family," said Mr. Watson.
Dwight Moore, of the Jamaica Karting Association (JKA), added that the event is specifically for families and racing enthusiasts. "This kind of sport is popular as a family entertainment in Europe and Latin America - a way for parents and the children to release energy and display talent," he said.
The 'real excitement' is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and throughout the day racing and biking talent will be on show. There is a Kids' Kart Race, for children five to eight, scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
Stunt show
The anticipated stunt show, with the overseas-based Red Bull Air Force skydivers and Crash Test Dummies on BMX bicycles, is also still on for 1:00 p.m.
"The skydivers arrived on the island on Friday and are ready to go on Sunday," said Mr. Watson.
"The Red Bull Air Force team, they are the official skydivers who will be taking off somewhere in New Kingston and landing on a particular turf. These are well known and trained skydivers who have been practising for this event for months," said Mr. Moore.
In addition, on the track competing against others will be a few families. Father-son and father-daughter teams involved in various areas as drivers, coaches or mechanics.
The winner of tomorrow's event goes to Brazil Formula One, which is the fastest form of motor sports in the world.
"We are moving forward in putting the sport on the map. That's why New Kingston, the premier business district, was chosen for the event," said Mr. Moore.
Parents out with children have no need to worry about food, as restaurants on the boulevard provide a variety of fast food.
"The event is free, all people need is good behaviour. We are also recommending patrons to car-pool so the parking system does not get out of control," added Mr. Moore.
"Patrons should turn out expecting to have a great time while supporting our go-kart fraternity," said Mr. Watson.
