Arnold offers British PM role as the Blairminator

LONG BEACH, California (AP):

When British Prime Minister Tony Blair decides to terminate his day job, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has an offer for him, he said.

"Maybe he should be the head of the U.N.? Maybe something that is a step up. Who knows what it is?" Schwarzenegger mused, as the two shared a podium Monday at a press conference after a meeting on climate change. "If he needs a job, and wants a job in Hollywood, I'll get him a job - as Terminator 4."

Blair laughed, and said: "That's the best offer I've had. Actually, sadly, it's the only offer I've had."

Schwarzenegger and Blair had just attended a round-table discussion on climate change, and announced an agreement Monday to work together to explore ways to fight global warming.

Blair has said he will not stand for office in Britain's next general election, which is due before 2010 at the latest.

The Prime Minister travelled to California to promote British trade interests in the state. He was scheduled to return to London yesterday.
