Two additional scholarships were awarded to students who took part in the Jeff Rodgers basketball camp, which concluded with an exhibition game at the National Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday night. Originally only four students were expected to be asked to take up scholarship offers, but apparently impressed by the crop of talent the organisers of the camp have now offered two more.

Four male and two female players were granted scholarships, having displayed the most talent and promise during the five-day camp.

The players are Christina Mitchell, Annarhesia Farquharson, Deameatrio Wade, Lon Parke, Shane Williams and Bradley Bogues. Two of the students are expected to take up scholarships in The Bahamas, while the other four will take up scholarships in Connecticut and Washington. The camp, now in it's second year, began in Arnett Gardens, before moving to Tivoli Gardens and then Waterhouse.

The final two days of the camp, which were for the most talented students recruited from each venue, was held at the G.C Foster College. It is from there that the students were selected for scholarship opportunities.

In the night's exhibition game, the NBL All-Stars avenged the previous year's loss when they got by the Jeff Rodgers team, which boasted four former NBA players, 74-55.
