AFTER HIS dismal performance at the Lakeville track in Connecticut, United States, last month, Jamaica's Formula One BMW driver, Joel Jackson, is expected to improve his chances of qualifying for the grand finale BMW series when he travels to Montreal, Canada, on Thursday, to participate at another meet.
"This is a much better track, much wider, smooth and flat. This is where I am expecting him to improve his perfor-mance," said Joel's father, Andrew Jackson.
He will be competing at the Canadian Grand Prix against 16 year-old Daniel Morad who is leading on points in the series, Reed Stevens who has done well so far in the series and the other top contender, John Zartarian, the son of the California-based Mark Zartarian.
The elder Zartarian was one of the top performers at the Jamaica Karting Association's (JKA) international go kart meet, held in November 1993, at the Palisadoes International Race-way, Kingston.
There are reports that world renowned motor sports greats Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonzo will also be competing at the race meet, but not in the same event as the Jamaican.
