Teen stabbed to death by classmates
published: Saturday | June 17, 2006

WESTERN BUREAU:

A 15-YEAR-OLD student of the Muschette High School in Trelawny was fatally stabbed during a dispute with a group of schoolmates in Wakefield yesterday.

He has been identified as 10th grader Kemar Barrett of Adelphi in St. James.

His alleged attacker is said to be a grade 11 pupil, who has been hospitalised under police guard for injuries he sustained during the fracas. The source of the dispute is still unknown.

AFTER EXAMINATION

Police say the incident took place about 11:45 a.m. while Barrett was walking towards a bus stop in the community shortly after he sat an examination. It is said that he was attacked by a group of boys armed with knives and machetes.

Barrett allegedly disarmed one of them and used a knife to cut him.
