PERSONS WHO were affected by the cement company's recent release of faulty cement have now been provided with a formal procedure to lodge complaints.
Below is an outline of the steps (courtesy of Caribbean Cement Company Limited), involved in submitting the complaints related to the recall of non-conforming cement that was packaged during the period February 19 to February 27:
1) Return bags of cement that were packaged during the above-mentioned period to the points of purchase for replacement. The stores should then return the bags of cement to the Carib Cement plant at Rockfort or to the nearest Carib Cement Depot for replacement.
2) Persons who have used cement, which was packaged during the said time frame and which exhibited unusual characteristics, should contact the Carib Cement Sales and Marketing Department to makearrangements for the representatives of the company to visit the construction sites. If it is ascertained that that any fault in the concrete is due to the use of non-conforming cement packaged during the recall period, the complainant should submit a written claim to the Caribbean Cement Company Limited.
