Webber quits post as deputy general secretary of the PNP
published: Sunday | May 21, 2006

WEBBER

PEOPLE'S NATIONAL Party (PNP) sources said last night that deputy general secretary Maureen Webber had resigned from that position, which she assumed three years ago.

Ms. Webber, an economist by profession, was in charge of the party secretariat's electoral activities during the contentious period leading up to the presidential campaign in which Portia Simpson Miller emerged victorious in a four-man contest.

When contacted yesterday by the Gleaner/Power 106 News, Ms. Webber declined to confirm or deny the reports of her resignation. But, PNP insiders insisted that her resignation was, at least written, even if not yet responded to by party bosses.
