Moodie magic
published: Sunday | May 21, 2006

Peter Moodie Jr.

BEHIND EVERY successful motor racing team, there is always a good pit crew. This is exactly what the top class mechanic and retired racing driver, Peter Moodie, has been demonstrating with the KIA/NG racing team.

The team comprises Moodie's son, Peter Moodie Jr., Kyle Gregg, Colin Daley Jr., the Anderson brothers, Martin and Andre, along with Dwight Moore and his sons, Dominic and Sean.

"All our team members have the potential to achieve at the highest level,"said Moodie, who is responsible for preparing and servicing at least six go karts on any race day at the Palisadoes International Raceway, Kingston.

Moodie, who has been described as an icon of motor racing in Jamaica, a man who once dominated the rallies and circuit racing at the Dover Raceway, St. Ann, said what he is doing now, is the product of what he has been doing for the past 30 years.

The team captain, Dwight Moore, is hoping that the team will make a clean sweep of all the major titles this season. He has set the trend for his team members to follow, by leading on points in the Rotax Masters Class. His son, Dominic is also leading in the Rotax International Class.

Young Colin Daley is out in front on points in the Junior Sportsman Class. The other members are in prominent positions in their respective classes. They are up against some top teams, to include the Jetcon Racing Team and the Stewarts' Team.
