Reggae Boyz to face Ghana in tune-up match
published: Wednesday | May 10, 2006

Paul-Andre Walker, Staff Reporter

JAMAICA HAVE confirmed that they will be playing against Ghana on May 29 at the Leicester City Stadium, ahead of their historically significant clash with England on June 3.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced the game as a tune-up for the friendly against England and, as such, has decided on picking a large squad featuring 22 players.

The squad that will make the trip to England on May 24 will be named on May 19 or 20.

The JFF also announced that the game will help Ghana in their inaugural World Cup preparations.

Ghana are ranked 50th in the world while Jamaica are ranked six places higher.

With only 23 days remaining before the June 3 England game, the JFF reported that the 68,000 capacity Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester was 95 per cent sold out.
