Take care of Jamaica
published: Wednesday | May 10, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WAS just reading your newspaper online from the States. I am a Caribbean national and would love to visit your country, but every day I go online and read about the horrible murders that's going on in your country, I wonder what effect does it have on tourism?

My question to the police force and Government of Jamaica is, where are these criminals getting these guns? Jamaica is a very beautiful island from what I've seen in the movies, food, people, I've even dated a Jamaican. I would love to visit for two weeks. I would not like to come there and have it in the back of my head that I have to watch my back everywhere I go, or have to go out with bodyguards just to have a good time. I don't want to come there and have to live in fear for my life or safety. Please try to take care of your beautiful island, don't let evil men and women take over.

I am, etc.,
