YHANN PLUMMER registered a sprint double win at the Houston Invitational on Saturday as Jamaican athletes registered three victories at the meet.
Plummer produced decent winning times of 10.21 in the 100 metres and 20.47 in the 200, and Jamaican Tanya Jarrett was also a winner at the meet staged at the University of Houston.
In the men's 100 metres, Plummer, a 100 and 200-metre bronze medallist at the 2002 CARIFTA Games, won with authority ahead of Ravyn Hayward (10.39) and Ivory Williams (10.44).
LITTLE CLOSER
The field was a little closer to him in the 200 as he won ahead Preston Perry (20.61) and Williams (20.62).
Jarrett, who posted back-to-back CARIFTA Games title wins in 1994 and 1995, won the women's 400 hurdles in 58.63 seconds, chased by Meka Rembert-Thompson (58.71) and Rowena Hamlet, who took third in one minute 01.82.
There was a second place finish in the men's high jump for ex-Jamaica competitor Germaine Mason.
The 2003 Pan American Games champion cleared 2.15 metres for the runner-up spot to Cedric Norman, who also posted 2.15 metres for his win. Marcus Harris was third, also at 2.15 metres.
