GOVERNOR-GENERAL PROFESSOR Kenneth Hall visited Hanover yesterday for the first leg of an islandwide parish tour scheduled to end in St. Catherine on May 18.
The parish tour is part of several initiatives the Governor-General will undertake "to strengthen existing relationships between Custodes and the residents of the parishes," while "bringing King's House closer to Jamaicans from all walks of life."
Professor Hall said the islandwide tour is also intended to "reaffirm the value and role of the churches in each parish and give visibility to the development activities with which the Custodes are involved."
During the tour, the Governor-General will attend a number of functions and meet with Justices of the Peace as well as with representatives from the business and social sectors in the parishes.
