LEADERS ST. Catherine and defending champions Manchester secured first innings points against Portland and St. Mary on yesterday's first day of their Supreme Ventures Super Cup matches.
At Folly Oval: Pacers Jermaine Lawson (4-48) and Oneil Richards (4-36) combined to dismiss Portland for 115.
At their turn at bat, St. Catherine reached 188-7. Danza Hyatt got 61 and Bevon Brown was on 35. Carl Brissett had taken 4-47.
At St. Mary's Sports Club: A good all-round performance by Donovan Sinclair placed Manchester in control against St. Mary.
Sinclair first took 3-23 to help dismiss St. Mary for a paltry 87 and then hit 59 in Manchester's reply of 199-3.
Stephon Patterson (4-13) and Andre Dwyer (3-28) were also among the wickets.
Ziggy Levy chipped in with 87 for Manchester.
At Melbourne Oval: Donovan Pagon scored his second century of the season, 104, to lead Melbourne to 334 for eight at the close.
THREE IMPORTANT PARTNERSHIPS
Pagon, who hit 15 fours and one six off 155 deliveries, shared in three important partnerships 84 for the third wicket with Marlon Samuels, 36; 77 for the the fifth with Carlton Baugh, 47, and 76 for the sixth with Andre McCarthy, 66.
Andrew Richardson took 3-68 and former West Indies skipper Jimmy Adams 2-24.
At Allan Rae Oval: Westmoreland resume play this morning on 246 for eight with Myron Wilson on 45.
Andre Andrews made 51. Kamal Dennis claimed 4-58 and Wayne Cuff 3-30 on the opening day.
At Alpart Sports Club: St. Elizabeth and Lucas are locked in a tight battle for first innings points.
Lucas were dismissed for 213 with Tarrick Cousins getting 80 while Dorant McLeod (3-36) and Howard Powell (3-36) were the pick of St. Bess's bowlers.
In reply, St. Elizabeth closed at 85-3. Damion Ebanks was on 60.
