FINALLY! BUT is he for real? That seems to be the question on the lips of most Jamaicans, particularly supporters of Mrs. Simpson Miller, as they stand by quite bemused at why Mr. Patterson is taking so long to go, and questioning some of the decisions made in this the twilight of his administration?

He has announced March 30 as his departure date, but there are many whose position is, "let's wait and see what happens when that date comes", as they are of the opinion that Mr. Patterson's talk of retirement has been just that - talk.

Well, the mood among some supporters of Simpson Miller is now souring, based on what they consider Patterson's undermining of her mandate. Some are becoming openly defiant and threatening a revolt, if come, March 30 Portia Simpson Miller is not ensconced in Jamaica House/Vale Royal. Then all bets of pretence at party unity will be off.

My dears, it's definitely not all honky-dory now as the duly elected president of the People's National Party (PNP) and Prime Minister-designate now finds herself in the awkward position of not being able to assert her primacy and or exercise the powers of that office due to Mr. Patterson's clinging on to an office he no longer really has!

STILL HOLDING ON

And to make matters worse, there are rumblings that are threatening to erupt with the force of a volcano if her transition team is not allowed access to Jamaica House/Vale Royal, soon so they can begin with prepping for her 'inauguration'.

Can you all imagine, that this Prime Minister who announced his intention to retire over some three years ago, is still holding on to an office he vacated with the election of Mrs. Simpson Miller.

He is still attending executive council meetings and chairing them as party president. He is still trying to set the agenda for his duly elected successor Well, the buzz is, unless all of this changes and soon, there are those who are prepared to tell him and in no uncertain terms that the PNP's constitution only recognise the office of president and that is a post he no longer occupies.

My dears, more anon, as this one is still brewing!

Then my dears, the reign of the Pisceans comes to an end this Monday, but what a fabulous intervention it has offered. The partying is not over as this weekend, will see a whole new spate of Piscean celebrations, and honeys, none too soon, things were getting a little too drab around here.

Anyway me daahlings, the reviews are in and without a doubt, the party to beat was last Saturday night's swelleganza hosted by the charming Janet Farrow, at her tres chic Jacks Hills residence and honeys not only was this a show-stopper, it has become the benchmark of fabulousness and how, with among those celebrating a Piscean birthday is media personality Newton James, plus a number of the fab set.

And dovecakes, we are talking memorably hot Piscean season here, and then some, as was underlined by last Saturday's birthday shindig hosted by Janet Farrow.

And so, last Saturday, it may have been Janet Farrow's birthday party, but Robert Stephenson, was the one actually celebrating his birthday! Last night, however, it was all about his political colleague, Maureen Webber, who was the special guest at a party in her honour at the home of Minister Robert Pickersgill, so more to come!

The previous Friday, however, it was all about businessman and horse-racing personality Laurie Hussey, as he too celebrate the Age of Pisces. Come this Monday, however, his sister-in-law, the tres elegant Valerie Marzouca will mark her birthday.

Also celebrating on Monday will be the fab-looking Rose Tavares-Finson. And today being the 17th the Irish everywhere are celebrating St. Patrick's Day, but for Joe English, it's personal, as he celebrates another year of the charmed life, the partying will be over there at Sea Castles in Montego Bay.

And the fabulous Thalia Lyn is back from Florida where she celebrated her special day with family and friends, and honeys the buzz is it was all that!

Champagne toasts y'all and Caviar treats!

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

And speaking of champagne toasts: the ever charming couple, celebrated lawyer Christopher Bovell and his wife, fashion belissima Michelle Bovell, marked their 39th anniversary last Saturday, with an intimate little soiree at their Jack's Hills home that was restricted to immediate family and friends.

But wait for the 40th as the buzz is this will be an affair to remember!

And wait for this one as the invites are out for Andrew and Moya Baston's fifth wedding anniversary, and it promises to be a blast and then some in the fabulously chic upscale resort community of Silver Sands near Duncans, in Trelawny.

And speaking of fabulous parties and fabulous treats. Luvs, if y'all have not yet made and confirmed your reservations for tonight's epicurean feast and wine fiesta, at the fabulous Mac's Chops House, in New Kingston, then honeys, y'all will be missing one of the season's very best treats!

Doves, it promises to be a dish of a gourmet experience and nothing but, as noted and celebrated chef, and owner - Mario Machado, who will be pairing with Paul Hanworth's 1876 Wines, to host an evening of fab wines and food at a nominal cost!

Honeys, we are talking a four-course meal here prepared by Mario Machado, with wine master Adrian Garforth providing detailed commentary on each course and the pairing of wine for same! Oh, my word, is this the makings of utopia or what!
