SPANISH TOWN, St. Catherine:
THOUSANDS OF students and other young persons who are members of 4H clubs in St. Catherine flocked the grounds of Friendship Primary School in St Catherine yesterday for the 4H Club Parish Achievement Day.
Creary Brown, director of planning, research and information at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), implored the young achievers to remain focused on becoming the future leaders of Jamaica. He said their good behaviour and resourcefulness were what the country required to go forward.
SKY THE LIMIT
Mr. Brown added that the sky was the limit through hard work and dedication and that 4H clubbites are responsible for moulding the minds of their peers.
Several presentations were made during the function and Owen Palmer, Deputy Mayor of Spanish Town, brought greetings on behalf of the parish. Several cultural pieces were presented by members of schools who turned out, and there was a wide display of culinary dishes from various schools throughout St. Catherine.
Among the agencies that displayed booths on the site were the Police Community relations, the National Solid Waste Management Authority, the National Housing Trust, the Consumer Affairs Commission, and the Bee Keepers Association. The consensus among those who attended was that it was a day well spent as they look forward to the next Achievement Day.
