Strong backing for Portia

A STRONG 78 per cent of persons interviewed in a recent Gleaner-commissioned Bill Johnson poll have a favourable opinion of Prime Minister-designate Portia Simpson Miller.

Meanwhile, only 11 per cent of respondents said they had an unfavourable opinion of the new People's National Party president-elect. Another 11 per cent said they were not sure.

At the same time, Opposition Leader Bruce Golding garnered a favourable opinion from only 35 per cent of those interviewed in the survey. Fifty per cent of respondents said they had an unfavourable opinion of him and another 15 per cent indicated that they were not sure.
