No room at the inn - Kingston's small hotels booked out for PNP delegates' conference
published: Tuesday | February 21, 2006

SOME SMALL hotels in Kingston are reporting full bookings for this Saturday's People's National Party (PNP) delegates' conference, which will be held on the grounds of Jamaica College on Old Hope Road, St. Andrew.

Checks made by The Gleaner yesterday at some hotels confirmed that delegates, who have to travel from far distances to Kingston, have already started securing rooms to ensure that they are early to cast their votes for the next president of the PNP.

Among the hotels contacted was the Alhambra Inn, on Tucker Avenue, near the National Arena.

"We are expecting a full house on Friday," a spokesperson from that hotel told The Gleaner.

Similar reports were received from the Altamont Court Hotel, on Altamont Terrace. "We are booked for Friday," said a spokesperson from that hotel.

A sales and marketing officer for the Courtleigh Hotel and The Knutsford Court Hotel reported the same.

"Yes, both hotels are fully booked for the upcoming conference," said the salesperson.

While, the spokespersons from these hotels were unable to give a breakdown as to how many persons were booked to attend the conference, they however confirmed that many persons who have made reservations have indicated that they would be attending the special delegates' conference on Saturday.
