No interest in war
published: Monday | February 13, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

'BREAK THE RULES. Tell the truth. You have nothing to lose but arrogance, hypocrisy, and self-deceit.' If there is more to this, in the message of Islam, Christianity, or any other world religion, then we must ask ourselves if we need to know it in order to deal with our current situation.

The vast majority of followers of both religious faiths have no interest in war - no one's war, no war on anything, not G.W. Bush's war, nor Osama Bin Laden's war, not the Palestinian's nor the Israeli's war. In fact, they have no interest in any sort of war.

They know that whatever you want to call it, Crusade or Jihad, whatever, it is a lie, a falsehood, and that no true God, at least not one which anyone should believe in, would ever support such a thing.

OK, so who speaks for the majority when it says it's had enough? Speak now and loudly!

I am, etc.,

ED McCOY
