published: Saturday | January 21, 2006

BOYS' TOWN Football Club will be staging the Unity Cup at Collie Smith Drive in an effort to promote peace and love in the communities within South St Andrew and Western Kingston.

Activities will kick off at 4:00 p.m. with an admission fee of $300.

Boys' Town will be joined by Wray and Nephew National Premier League (NPL) outfits Arnett and Tivoli Gardens in a three-team football festival. All the teams are from the neighbouring communities of South St. Andrew and Western Kingston.

Each game will last for 30 minutes in a round-robin format with a winning prize of $50,000.

Following the three-team competition, there will be an exhibition match featuring Masters and Celebrities versus Entertainers.

The Masters and Celebrities team will be chosen from: Clive 'Busy' Campbell, Donovan 'DV' Hayles, Allan 'Skill' Cole, Trevor 'TC' Campbell, Milverton Brooks, Carl Brown, Andrew Price, Andrew Thomas, Dean Shepherd, Dean Smith, Ian Wilkinson, Ian Bond, David Williams, Peter Moses, Courtney Singh, Audley 'Coco' Boyd, Ian 'Beenie' Burnett, Calvin Hunter, Rudolph Speid, Lincoln 'Sixie' Taffe, Marvin Chin, Leroy Graham, Michael 'Jah Mikes' Williams, Oral Tracey, Lenworth 'Teacher' Hyde, Latos McLaren, Ian Fogo, Rennie Phillips, Patrick Watson, Roderick Reid, Livingston Morris, Michael Tulloch and Clyde Jureidini.

The Jamaica Football Federation says it fully supports the initiative as a continuing effort to utilise football as a means of building social cohesion in the country.
