Tuesday court date for cop

THE POLICEMAN and four other persons charged in connection with the series of robberies of returned residents are scheduled to return to court on February 10.

The three were remanded when they appeared in court on Friday.

Thirty-seven-year-old Constable Horace Roberts, 30-year-old carpenter, Robert Hurd and 30-year-old Richard Ewart have been charged with 30 counts of robbery with aggravation.

Roberts, Hurd and Ewart were arrested on October 22, by detectives from the Flying Squad in connection with the number of robberies of returned residents between May 2004 and October 2005.

Two females - 26-year-old Princess John of Maiden Lane in Kingston and a 16-year-old girl of Scotts Pass in Clarendon - have also been charged with receiving stolen property.
