Importance of a 'rake' to winning
published: Saturday | November 19, 2005

Jah Foresight, Contributor

WHAT A week! Flood creating havoc in St. Mary and other parishes. Tropical storm Gamma is dodging around in the Caribbean Sea. A cheap computer marketed to children. Sean Paul hits gold with The Trinity. The Soca Warriors on the road to Germany. Street genocide continues in Kingston. Schools attack by gang warfare in the capital. Teargas bites mayors like wasps near Jamaica House. The jackpot wins again and now it is back at seven million.

Some buyers are disappointed that the jackpot has been won, so quickly, so soon. I can assure you that the winner is indeed happy. To build more confidence in the game, the parish of the winning ticket should be printed. After a high jackpot, sales are normally sustained; since there are many people who have not really realised that the jackpot is gone! Secondly, just the act of the jackpot being won helps to encourage new sales. Thirdly, this is the time when players redeem their match 4 and free tickets after the high jackpot and the wine of victory is intoxicating.

In the last article, I mentioned that I did not get to buy my mid-week ticket due to the gas line. I had mentioned about advanced purchasing of tickets. This feature is indeed still on the market. Imagine, you want to go to Aruba to cool out with your partner; you can buy your ticket for the next two weeks in advance. If you are relaxing in your hotel room and if you are able to get the results by any means, you will still be in the race. Can you imagine that your numbers could match while you are on vacation! If you can afford, buy your regular tickets using this feature and buy the rakes using the normal style.

RAKES

Rakes are very important to winning the jackpot. You should be able to read the game with rakes just like playing dominoes. There are two types of rakes to be considered. The first is international and an example of this can be seen in the first paragraph of this article. Second, some rakes are personal, whether they originate by dreams, fantasies, nightmares or by reality. The ability to blend the two different types of rakes to create a winning ticket is what matters. Buying the lotto will bring out different levels of synergies in your creativity.

It is interesting to see the acceptance of the lotto by the general society. It is now even more popular than horse racing. It can be done in secret and no one has to see you at the race track. Let me hope that it does not have an addictive side like crack cocaine. I was in another parish yesterday and I planned to buy my ticket at that time. I noticed that a pastor from my village (Foresight is a countryman) stepped into the building. He did not move toward the section to buy nails, but went to buy his tickets! I was shocked. I dodged in a corner. I did not want him to see a familiar face. He left the store a happy man. To be fair to him, he spends about a $100 on his tickets.

WINNINGS AND THE CHURCH

I remember some years ago, a prominent church sister won a jackpot. She was confused whether to collect the money since the publicity would destroy the relationship with her church. I told her to collect the money and if she had any problems she should switch denomination or the congregation. I am sure that she gave to charity and charity starts at home. I also remember when lotto money was deemed as dirty similar to revenue from cocaine. This sentiment has, however, changed over time since the first game was played in 1994. The lotto has had a better image than horse racing and even casino, which might become legal shortly.

A lot of cries have been made to give revenues from gambling to education instead of sports. If you look at those speakers on their cocktail circuits, they are the same persons who preach morality to this society. What I need to advocate, is for more assistance to be given to the development of rural Jamaica.

LAST TWO RESULTS

The results for last Saturday:

1 (Duppy, bench, ice); 3 (coffin, broom, garlic); 11 (dog, bamboo); 22 (nurse, diamond, white woman); 27 (parson, bullet, flood); 30 (muddy water, white rum, fish) and the bonus ball of 4.

My rake for the next few draws is baby.

The results for winning Wednesday were:

3 (coffin, broom, garlic); 16 (Young girl, grass, blue); 17 (Chinese man, old dead); 23 (birth of cat, black man, monkey); 33 (church, god); 36 (old lady, donkey) and the bonus ball of 29.

Have you noticed the frequency of death for the past few draws?

The repeated number is 3 and the consecutive numbers are 16 and 17.
