Lambert impresses again with another ton
published: Saturday | November 19, 2005

Lambert

CAPTAIN TAMAR Lambert's impressive early-season form continued when he scored his second century, as Jamaica extended their preparation for the regional 2005-2006 Carib Beer Series cricket championship.

Lambert struck an unbeaten 141 which included 13 fours and two sixes off 242 balls, as his team closed yesterday's second day of the four-day practice match at Chedwin Park on 299 for four, this replying to David Bernard XI's 190.

The right-handed batsman, who scored 155 in the second practice match at Kensington Park last week, featured in two important partnerships.

He added 136 for the third wicket with Danza Hyatt, who chipped in with 48 and so far 56 for an unbroken fifth-wicket stand with Carlton Baugh Jr., who is unbeaten on 20.

Shawn Findlay, who made 36, and Brenton Parchment, who was run out for 14, started the day with Lambert XI on 23 without loss.

Bevon Brown picked up 2-61 bowling for Bernard's XI.

Lambert will lead Jamaica in the first two matches of the Carib Beer Series, which Jamaica will start next Friday with a home game against the Leeward Islands at Kensington Park.
