National Honours and Awards ceremony on schedule for today
published: Monday | October 17, 2005

TODAY'S NATIONAL Honours and Awards ceremony will be held regardless of heavy rains.

But to accommodate the weather, the event, usually held on the King's House Lawn, will be held indoors and under a tent, the Governor-General's Aide-de-Camp (ADC) Captain Mahatma Williams told JIS News.

The start time of 9 a.m. will be unaffected.

One hundred and fifty seven awardees, government officials and diplomats will be accommodated in the ballroom. Those lower down the table of precedence, will be housed in the foyer.

The dining room and tents to the east and south will seat family members and well-wishers. JIS will provide television screens for those outside of the main seating area.
