Men not pulling their weight
published: Sunday | October 9, 2005

Cecile Kelly, a businesswoman who runs a day care centre and in her mid 30s is a single woman who is having difficulty in finding her soul mate.

"I have not come across a man who meets 80 to 90 per cent of my idea of the ideal mate. They often fall below, so, I don't bother waste my time with them," she told The Sunday Gleaner.

Her ideal mate she told The Sunday Gleaner is someone who is a "spiritual person, who is kind, a person who will commit himself and one who is financially independent," she said.

But why is it so difficult to find that person? Part of the challenge, she said, is that she has not been actively looking but she said within her limited sphere such as her church congregation, it is a tedious task.

"In my denomination (which she has not disclosed), I don't see a male that would make me happy. Those in my age group are not financially sound; they don't have anything and I refuse to pick up a man with nothing," she stated flatly.
