CONVICTED MURDERER 'Richie Pooh' of the notorious Gideon Warriors gang, who was sentenced last week to 30 years' imprisonment, is now facing a murder charge.
The gangster, whose real name is Kevin Tyndale, appeared in the Home Circuit Court on Monday, but his case was put off to December 12 because his co-accused is to have another lawyer assigned to him.
The case was set for trial but attorney-at-law Kenneth Ferguson, who is representing 37-year-old Brenton Fletcher, asked the court to revoke his legal aid assignment.
Mr. Ferguson said that he was uncomfortable with certain aspects of the case. He said it was in his best interest for the assignment to be revoked. Justice Wesley James granted his request.
The two men are charged jointly with the murder of Jarvis Lobban, of Mud Town, near Gordon Town, St. Andrew. The Crown is alleging that Lobban was shot and killed on July 14 in Papine, St. Andrew.
'Richie Pooh' was sentenced last week to three terms of 30 years' imprisonment, each at hard labour, after he was convicted of charges of robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent and illegal possession of firearm. The sentences are concurrent.
Last week he also appeared in the Gun Court on charges of illegal possession of firearm and wounding with intent, but another mention date was set in the case. 'Richie Pooh' is accused of shooting and wounding a policeman in the leg.
