SANDOR PANTON of Top5Jamaica.Com, in association with the Gleaner Online, guides you through what's new, cool and interesting on the Internet. From Jamaica to the wider Caribbean and the rest of the World, this is the 'Week on the Web'.

TECHJAMAICA.COM

The 'Grand Daddy' of Jamaica's technology portals, TechJamaica.com, has been online for over three years now and continues to be the leader in terms of popularity. Its message board has a base of over 3,000 members and is usually very active, with local and foreign-based individuals posting in a range of forums covering everything from computer hardware and software topics to mobile phones, gaming and tech classifieds.

CHANNELJAMAICA.COM

ChannelJamaica.com was launched just over two years ago as a technology portal with a specific focus - its main target audience is web developers and others who may be involved or interested in the design, development, marketing and maintenance of websites.

TECHWATCHCARIBBEAN.COM

TechWatch is the newest (launched just last week) Jamaican Technology web portal, but already it promises and delivers useful commentary and analyses of technology and telecom-related happenings and trends here in Jamaica, as well as for the wider Caribbean.

BUG ME NOT

If you're visiting a website that requires you to register first using your e-mail address (in order to get complete access), but you don't have the time for this process, visit http://www.bugmenot.com where they're likely to have an access login that you can use for free.

WEBSITES OF THE WEEK

http://www.jamaicanservices.com - JamaicanServices.com is an online directory with a difference, offering detailed listings of online as well as offline Jamaican businesses and the products/services that they provide.

http://www.mediabuyerplanner.com - As with previous weeks, I've featured a second site which is not specifically Jamaican, but which should be of interest to some who are business-minded.

MediaBuyerPlanner is for marketers, and it offers up-to-date marketing news as it relates to various medium including television, radio, print, interactive, direct, outdoor and online.
