THE 2005 ISSA Pepsi/Jamaica National daCosta Cup rural area schoolboys football season will swing into action this afternoon with six games, following Saturday's opening games played at Jarrett Park.
Debutants Irwin High will bow into action against Muschett, who will return after a two-year absence in one of three Zone A games, while Anchovy host St. James High and William Knibb welcome Maldon to Martha Brae.
In Zone D, Marcus Garvey will host Ferncourt, Cedric Titus and Ocho Rios meet in Clarks Town and Aabuthnott Gallimore and Brown's Town will meet in Alexandria.
Defending champions Glenmuir High and former winners Cornwall College got off to winning starts in Saturday's opening games at Jarrett Park.
Glenmuir cruised to an easy 5-0 win over Garvey Maceo in their Zone I game while Cornwall found themselves in a dogfight against an impressive looking Herbert Morrison in the third game of the evening, before winning 2-1.
After being delayed when rains washed out the lines, the Montego Bay schools entertained the patient crowd with a wide-open game that swung from end to end.
Richard Edmonson gave Cornwall the lead in the 41st minute but Orane Sterling cancelled it out for the young Herbert Morrison team three minutes later.
It was left up to Cedric Daley's 88th minute header to give Cornwall the full points and the early lead in the zone that now looks to be a very competitive one.
Daley was left unmarked at the far left post and had a free header past goalkeeper Tiano Allen.
