101 killed in St James since Jan
published: Monday | September 12, 2005

WESTERN BUREAU:

The Anchovy Police are probing the murder of a man, whose body was found with chop and stab wounds in Mount Carey, St. James yesterday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old David Plummer, a labourer of Mount Carey district.

His homicide is the third one reported in the parish over the past four days. To date, 101 persons have been killed in St. James since the start of this year.

On Thursday, 44-year-old taxi operator Melsha Hayles of Cambridge, St. James, was stabbed to death during a dispute with another man in the community.

The police reports are that about 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night, Mr. Hayles and another man had a disagreement concerning domestic matters. The man reportedly used a knife to stab him in the chest and escaped in nearby bushes.

Detectives are now seeking Jermaine Campbell, also known as 'Cheng Cheng' whom they believe can assist them in their investigations.
