IT WAS a scene of excitement and disbelief of a dream come true when FirstCaribbean International Building Society and Courts Jamaica Limited presented a prize of $500,000, redeemable from Courts Jamaica Limited, to the winner of the 'More than a Mortgage' campaign, Andrea Virgo, recently.

Ms. Virgo, the first winner of the campaign, was ecstatic.

"When Mr. Lindo called and told me I had won, I screamed out, 'I won! I won'!. My children all rushed into the room shouting 'We won! We won!, even though they did not know what was happening. I am still in shock. I felt like calling Mr. Lindo every day just to check if this was really happening," said a very happy Ms. Virgo.

Lenworth Tracey, general manager of FirstCaribbean International Building Society, Winston Lindo, account manager for the Mandeville branch of FirstCaribbean International Building Society and Verona Clark, Courts Jamaica Limited Mandeville branch manager, presented the prize letter to Ms. Virgo.

"We are pleased to be partnering with Courts as they have provided added value to this campaign. Not only does the customer benefit from a very low mortgage rate, but they also stand a chance of winning a selection from a wide range of products which Courts has made available," said Mr. Tracey at the presentation.

The 'More than a Mortgage' campaign which was launched at the Knutsford Court Hotel in May, effectively allows customers borrowing during the campaign period of May 8, 2005 to August 31, 2005 to save one half of one per cent of FirstCaribbean's already low mortgage rate.
