COME SEPTEMBER, the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) in Portland will be offering selected bachelor's and diploma programmes from four different locations across the island.
Dr. Paul Ivey, vice-president of the institution, made the disclosure last Monday.
The programmes that will be offered are bachelor's degrees of technology in environmental sciences, and agri-food systems. The diploma programme will be Teaching by Advanced Placements.
Dr. Ivey told The Gleaner that the decision to offer off-campus programmes arose from research which revealed that the highest demand for tertiary education usually comes from working adults.
He noted that the paradigm shift in education in which educational services are being delivered to students whenever and wherever they desire, was also a contributing factor.
