Bacchanal Ja launches 2K5 season
published: Friday | January 28, 2005

Teino Evans, Staff Reporter

IT IS carnival season once again and Bacchanal Jamaica is back to offer more fun, life and energy.

At the launch of Bacchanal Jamaica's 2k5 season, held at the Knutsford Court Hotel in New Kingston on Wednesday evening, Ed Khoury, one of the directors of Bacchanal Jamaica, highlighted some of the scheduled activities, while promising the usual stress relief that patrons always enjoy.

"Bacchanal is going to continue year after year to make things good for everyone," he said.

PARADED

At the launch, some of the colourful costumes were paraded to give an eyeful of the colourful flavour they will add to this year's carnival experience.

Among the flamboyant costumes that will be included in the street parades are 'Illusions' (lime green and blue), sponsored by Tampico; 'Imagination' (red/gold), sponsored by Digicel; 'Desire' (rust); 'Bizarre' (silver); 'Caprice' (pink/silver) and 'Visions' (black, green and gold).

REASSURED

Members of the media and public were reassured that all costumes will be made available this year in both one and two piece styles.

The eight-week celebration will kick off at the Mas Camp on Monday, January 31, commencing with Soca'cise, to get patrons in gear for the regular Friday fetes, leading up to the big day on Sunday, April 3, when the road march will take place.

Resident deejay, Bobby Wong of the Sparkles Disco, in addition to bands such as Surface and Krosfyah, will be responsible for igniting the fun, excitement and entertainment.
