Air J and the Stewart years
published: Sunday | January 9, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM hopeful that the Jamaican Government can continue growing Air Jamaica in the same positive ways as happened under the helm of Butch Stewart.

Mr. Stewart provided not only leadership but a voice for the tourism industry which he so proudly represents and to which he also brought confidence.

The accomplishments during the "Stewart years" have been nothing short of incredible with true, world-class service, providing those of us in the Jamaica tourism market with an honest vehicle to sell a fine product. I am particularly impressed with the number of Caribbean destinations now available to us, which we never had before and the much talked about first-class service.

So again, I hope the government follows Butch's positive outlook, aggressive marketing and true customer service philosophy as it takes Air Jamaica to new heights.

I am, etc.,

TOM LINTON

Managing Director,
