THE EDITOR, Sir:
WHERE ARE all the true, concerned and God-fearing Jamaicans? Are they the ones that are flooding the news media over the past couple weeks with letters, e-mails, calls and even television talk shows on Bishop Blair's comments on women attire or, are they the ones that only have a voice when Jamaica does well such as at the Athens Olympics.
(Just a note, congratulations to every member of our superb Olympics team on their outstanding performances in Athens. They all made Jamaica proud)
Where are the flood of letters and verbal outcry/concerns on radio and television about the hundreds of fellow Jamaicans especially the youth dying daily? Haven't you seen that they are now dying younger and younger, just teenagers. Where are the flood of letters and verbal outcry/concerns on radio and television for the elderly? (94-year-old woman raped).
Where are the flood of letters and verbal outcry/concerns on radio and television about our peacekeepers, especially the policemen and women who are being hunted daily and risk their lives everyday to keep the peace? Open your eyes and hearts Jamaica. Don't be distracted. What are your priorities? I hope and pray that we will all wake up sooner than later. wake up Jamaica!
I am, etc.,
E. HANSON
