Record 17 claims for Lady Kampoor
published: Friday | July 16, 2004

A RECORD 17 claims was submitted for LADY KAMPOOR in the third race won by MAHENDRA EXPRESS at Caymanas Park on Wednesday.

Two, however, were declared void and in a 15-way shake, LADY KAMPOOR went to trainer Richie Todd on behalf of the X-Factor for $150,000, a real bargain considering that the seven-year-old mare was claimed for $170,000 by trainer Anthony Nunes on June 5 after winning back-to-back races. On Wednesday, she finished fourth as the even-money favourite.

Other horses claimed on the 10-race programme were beaten favourite ABUELO in the fifth race won by PREFECT and last race winner MINISTER ON WHEELS.

ABUELO was taken from trainer Gary Subratie by Richie Todd on behalf of Conneecticut for $310,000 while the front running MINISTER ON WHEELS was picked up for $140,000 by trainer Deon Facey on behalf of himself.
