Mosquitoes a nuisance
published: Friday | July 16, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I LIVE in Lauriston, Spanish Town, St. Catherine. For the past few weeks the area has been infested with mosquitoes.

As soon as night falls, houses become crowded with these insects. And the worst part of it is that these insects can infect children with disease.

We have been spending money like crazy on mosquito destroyers which only stinks up the whole place, including your clothing, and is not in my opinion healthy for young children.

We spray insecticides like crazy and they still find ways of coming into the home. I have been trying for weeks to get the Spanish Town Health Depart-ment to come to the area and to date, nil, nothing, nada!. We would like for this to be published as this is a health hazard that needs urgent attention.

I am, etc.,

WORRIED CITIZEN

Lauriston,

Spanish Town,

St. Catherine
