Slayers to meet Tivoli in semi-finals
published: Thursday | May 13, 2004

LeVaughn Flynn, Staff Reporter

ST. GEORGE'S Slayers will meet defending champs Tivoli All-Stars in the semi-final of the KFC/Cable & Wireless National Basketball League after defeating Harbour View Lakers 104-82 in game three of their best-of-three quarter-finals at the Stadium courts on Tuesday night to win the series 2-1.

Slayers simply outhustled Lakers who fielded only eight players and were notably missing Christopher Walker who was sidelined by a broken arm.

"We pressured them and I guess because we are a little fitter than them. We tried to run it hard against them and didn't ease up the pressure, plus we tried to minimise our mistakes," said Slayers coach Winston Harvey.
