The following question was posed to participants and onlookers at Sunday's Rotary Club of Montego Bay Bike-a-thon: 'Do you believe that enough is being done to promote sports tourism in Montego Bay?'

Jerry Reid, Sports Administrator: "No, I don't think so. I believe we should be planning more sporting activities with our visitors in mind. The hotels and the communities should come together and plan joint sporting activities to include locals and visitors."

Andrew Gayle, Bank Clerk: "Yes, I think we are doing quite well. Look at today's bike-a-thon, we have a number of tourists competing. What we really need is to alert our visitors to what we are doing and encourage them to come and participate."

Clive Mullings, Attorney/ Politician: "No, I think we can do much better. As you can see, we are short on quality facilities in Montego Bay. Even the new Catherine Hall stadium is useless in its unfinished state. We do have the potential but we are lacking in facilities."

Cheryl Thompson, Broadcaster: "No. I don't think so. At least I am not seeing any evidence of this. We need to improve our facilities and offer more activities so that our visitors will be encouraged to leave their hotels and go out into the communities."

Yolanda Samuels, Executive Assistant: "We need more events like this bike-a-thon as this is an ideal way to get visitors involved in local events. What we probably need to do is to have our hotels and the various sporting groups working together to plan events."
