Congrats to the new JLP officers
published: Wednesday | November 26, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to express my sincere congratulations to all those who were newly elected to officer positions in the Jamaica Labour Party on Sunday.

To Bruce Golding, Percy Broderick and Karl Samuda, yours is the task to lead the Labour Party to new and exciting times, but yours is also the task to ensure that those who are no longer in these leadership positions are made to feel that they are still part of a team of a great Party whose contribution will always be valuable.

My particular congratulations goes to my friend Prudence Kidd-Deans who so graciously withdrew from the race of General Secretary in the interest of the Party. It is not always those who win who are the victors, but those who sacrifice who come out being a star, and a star is what Prudence Kidd Deans became on Sunday.

Let us bond together now and try to win governance over a country that is crying out for help.

I am etc.,

COUNCILLOR SALLY

PORTEOUS,
