THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing in response to a gentleman whose message was posted on the Internet 11/18/03 regarding finding a job in Jamaica. I am an American citizen interested in moving to Jamaica, BUT I am having a terrible time trying to find work.

I am only looking for short-term work until I can start my own business. I have looked at websites that cater to Caribbean jobs, but there are never any jobs. It's difficult, because I read the Gleaner almost daily and see that the government is trying to encourage people to invest in Jamaica, but it is very difficult if you are not bringing lots of money with you.
