END-OF-first-round finalists Harbour View and Reno will complete the first-round fixtures this afternoon when they meet at Frome in a rescheduled Wray & Nephew National Premier League game, starting at 3:00 p.m.
The game was scheduled as a part of the ninth set of matches on Sunday, October 26, but was called of after heavy afternoon showers had dumped inches of rain on the Frome, Westmoreland pitch. The prospects of the game being played on a dry pitch did not look good yesterday afternoon as rain was falling heavily and Frome is not known for good drainage.
Reno will be looking to kick-start the second round and hope for more consistent form. They are on 11 points and in eighth place.
GOING FOR ALL THREE POINTS
While fussing with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) that the game should have been put off until after Sunday's final against Waterhouse, which is set to kick off at 5:00 p.m. at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex in Arnett Gardens, Kingston. Harbour View's coach Donovan Hayles told The Gleaner yesterday they will approach the game like any other with three points being their main goal.
"We are preparing to go get all three points. It will be hard, not just the fact that we will be playing so close to the finals but Reno is a good quality team and will always bounce back from a bad performance. They are experienced and can recover easily and turn bad moments into brilliant ones like how they came back to beat Arnett after a bad spell."
Accumulation of points is also the focus for the home team.
"We know it won't be an easy task and we will be working very hard to accomplish this task," said Reno's coach, Wendell Downswell.
"We definitely will be highly- motivated playing against Harbour View. Traditionally a Reno-Harbour View match is always a good match-up and we are highly-motivated going up against the top teams."
The loss to Invaders on Sunday, he said, won't affect them going in to the game as they were looking forward and not at the past.
