Gleaner managers hit the streets tomorrow

A TEAM of Gleaner managers, deputy managers, editors and other staff members will hit the road tomorrow during peak traffic hours as part of the activities to spearhead the Gleaner Company Ltd.'s new marketing thrust, 'Where Life Unfolds'.

The managers will hit the streets of the Corporate Area of Kingston and St. Andrew, Spanish Town, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, to sell newspapers with the wily sales pitch, 'buy a best-seller'.

"We will be selling the newspaper physically, in traffic, and assisting the vendors to make sales. We are doing this to show confidence in our product, that we believe in our product, and to show appreciation to, and readiness to serve our readers and customers," said Norman Marshall, The Gleaner's operations and circulation manager.

Other managers involved in the exercise include chairman and Managing Director, Oliver Clarke; Corporate Affairs Manager, Karin Cooper; Company Secretary, Collin Bourne; Deputy Managing Director, Christopher Roberts; Advertising and Marketing Manager, Yvonne Senior; Lifestyle Editor, Grace Cameron; and Editor-in-Chief Garfield Grandison.

"This latest initiative is just one of the new and exciting innovations that The Gleaner plans to reveal within the next few months.

"Soon, the newspaper will have a high-energy roll-out of a wide range of avant garde ideas and products that will wow, as well as inspire readers. During the next few months, readers and customers will find themselves playing more involved roles in our decision-making process as we remain at the forefront of the media landscape in Jamaica," said the Editor-in-Chief.
